A Little About Me

BetaMax Bandits is the cinematic extension of Bruce Douglas. Bruce is a freelance writer, exhausted parent, and physical media collector based in Colorado. He writes about movies and DVD/Blu-ray releases with an emphasis on genre films and cult classics.

Bruce schooled himself in film by working at video stores studying the breadth of cinema one stack of tapes at a time. As his tastes evolved the young clerk began to seek out films that lie on the fringes of good taste and popularity.

 

In 2016 Bruce started reviewing Blu-rays for HighDefDigest.com after working as a blogger and film researcher for HKFlix.com When he isn't reviewing discs Bruce spends his free time with his family. From Corman to Cassavetes, Bruce will literally watch anything except Sam Raimi's Spiderman 3.
